Now iTunes In Russia!

Apple will launch a music online store iTunes Store in Russia already next week.long side with it more than 50 iTunes stores are open today! This is a special event for top specialists in education sphere.

A music track in iTunes Store costs $0,99. In Russian one it’s expected to be less price, but even such can seem a high one for a Russian customer, who used to have something for free.

Some iTunes history in figures:

  • The music online store iTunes was launched 28.04.03.

  • Steve Jobs claimed songs to be sold not in albums, but per item and price to be $0,99.

  • According to 2012 year’s data an amount of iTunes accounts is more than 400 million and a number of songs available through this service is about 28 million.

  • Now there are 61 countries, where iTunes is available, including Cambodia, Laos, Sri-Lanka and Brunei.

Many experts think iTunes Store doesn’t have any prospects in Russia and there are some reasons for that.

Firstly, most of Russian listening music people used to get it for free by downloading from the Internet.

Secondly, Yandex.Music catalogue has about 4,5 million tracks now and 70 thousand compositions. And this is only about Russian music. A cost of month subscription is just about 99 rubles and the whole music base will be available for you.

Finally, there are strong positions of Apple’s mail competitor ever Samsung Music Hub, launched in the beginning of June 2012. You can listen to more than 19 million tracks and keep music in “cloud” through Music Hub.
