International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has published a new report of researching Internet users. The separated part of infographics was about "Digital Native".
Who are "digital natives" and why is it important?
A digital native is a person who was born during or after the general introduction of digital technologies and through interacting with digital technology from an early age, has a greater understanding of its concepts. Marc Prensky coined the term digital native in his work "Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants" published in 2001.
This definition is very close to Generation Z. "Digital person" is considering the main part of "digital century". People, who were born before digital era, were named "digital immigrants".
More than 250 million people became Internet users during the last year and the total of Internet users will have reached 30,7% of world population by the end of this year.
