There was an empire called Judaea. The capital of Judaea was Jerusalem. Modern historians and archeologists claim that empire was located in south-west Asia, where Israel is located now. The capital of Israel has the same name, which is Jerusalem. Scientists, who study biblical history, claim that ancient Judaic Jerusalem and modern one are one and the same. However, not all scientists are sure that ancient Judaea was located near the east coast of Mediterranean Sea.

There is a theory of «New Chronology»’s authors A. Fomenko and G. Nosovsky in this application. They suppose Judaic Empire was located in completely different place, and described in Bible Jerusalem and modern one are not one and the same.
