Mobile Entertainment: earnings forecast
According to Juniper Research, a leading research firm in the sphere of mobile communication, entertainment revenues will rise to more than $ 65 bn annually by 2016. At the end of 2011 the profit from mobile entertainment was $ 36 bn and in the next 5 years will be doubled.
An actively developing market of tablet devices will provide this growth.
Meanwhile, a report author Dr. Windsor Holden observed the increasing contribution made by consumer activity on tablet devices. “For applications such as streamed TV, multiplayer gaming or casino gambling, tablets offer a richer, more immersive experience than smartphones,” he said. “This is already translating into markedly higher usage – and consumer spend – on selected apps within these areas.”
The reporter also noted that in the future Far East and China would account for the largest share of mobile entertainment revenues.
