Today there is almost nothing unknown about Mongol-Tatar Yoke in Rus. Since we were pupils we have been told about enslaving Russian nation by steppe nomads, who didn’t have a culture and writing. It goes without saying this interruption led to huge human loss of Russian people, destroying and plunder of material and cultural values.

Since early childhood we were told that as a result of the Yoke economic and cultural progress in Rus was moved to three centuries back compared to Europe. We are hardly explained that Rus had been sinking in need, ignorance, cruelty and violence for three centuries because of being in economic and political dependency on its enslaver (Mongolian chagans and Golden Horde’s sovereigns).

That’s what is written in official books of Russian history. But was it so in real? Historic facts and evidences show us completely different things.
